(Sheridan, Wyo) The Advocacy and Resource Center (ARC) of Sheridan will be holding their annual March Against Family Violence in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Saturday, October 14th at 9:00 am. The march will begin at the Sheridan County Courthouse parking area, next to US Bank on Coffeen Avenue. The march will end at Whitney Commons, where there will be beverages and refreshments.
In a Facebook post, ARC says that they intend their message to be clear:
Family violence is NOT acceptable.
Our families are too important to lose to family violence.
Our children are too important to lose to the cycle of family violence.
Our community is too important to suffer the lasting effects of family violence.
“We are honored to partner with ARC for the March Against Family Violence,” said Susan Carr, Executive Director Compass Center for Families. “Violence impacts every single person in our community in one way or another, and when you work with children, violence becomes all too familiar. So we want to take a stand and say, ‘Not in my community.'”
