UPDATE – 1/11/18; 10:00 pm: The Sheridan Press reports that the coroner has identified the victim of the homicide as 47 year old Eric Kaylor of Sheridan County. Labuy and Kaylor appeared in court in May of last year where Labuy was charged with unlawful contact and criminal trespass, and was ordered by the court to have no contact with Kaylor. http://thesheridanpress.com/83365/murder-victim-identified/
(Sheridan, Wyo) The Sheridan Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place Wednesday night at an apartment on North Main. Christopher Macloughlin Labuy, 33, was arrested for first-degree murder and turned over to the Sheridan County Detention Center.
At approximately 11:13 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2018, SPD received a report of an alleged homicide at 1410 N. Main St. in Sheridan. The caller reported that Labuy knocked on his door and stated he had shot a man in another apartment in the building.
Responding SPD officers arrived on scene and detained Labuy.
Officers and Rocky Mountain Ambulance staff located the victim and determined he was deceased. It appeared the victim had died from a gunshot wound.
Detectives determined that probable cause existed to arrest Labuy for murder in the first degree.
Names and further information will be released once appropriate notifications are made.
Labuy will make his initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Thursday.
